SweeTease Cupcakes: SweeTease Cupcakes will be Featured at the 2011 The One of a Kind Show Vancouver!

Wonder where SweeTease has gone since last Christmas???? Not to worry, my treats have not entirely disappeared. They are still available for made-to-order orders online at www.sweeteasecupcakes.com. The Flavours Selection section is ever expanding too!

Unfortunately the Baker's Market tradition has taken as small setback this Spring. I will not be back at this year's Spring Baker's Market, simply because Baker's Market this Spring has been cancelled. This is unfortunate, since I love to see and hear the wonderful feedback from the public.

But the small setback doesn't mean the end of everything. In fact, the organizers of the One of a Kind Show Vancouver contacted me last year to exhibit and participate as a vendor at their Show but provided the short timeline and other commitments, it was an opportunity I had to pass up at the time. And yes, they contacted me again this year to participate in their Show for 2011. For those who are not familiar with the One of a Kind Show, it is a Show that features handcrafted items for viewing and sale by artisans and craftspeople. The Show has only recently moved to Vancouver and organizes Shows in Toronto, New York and Chicago. An application is required to be considered for the Show and the panel of judges determines on whether your craft is "one-of-a-kind" and suits the Show.

So as the story goes, I experimented hours in the kitchen thinking of new flavours that are classic yet unique in of their own. I finally came up with 14 new flavours for the panel of judges, including an earl grey vanilla, peach passionfruit lemonade, salted caramel banana chocolate chunk, a pumpkin spice bliss and a peanut butter & jelly cupcake! Good News! The judges love them and were so impressed they offered me a scholarship to assist with my booth fees as well! So although you might not see me out at the next Baker's Market, I will be at the One-of-a-Kind Show (which attracted over 30,000 people to the new Convention Centre at the Waterfront last year!). Plenty of new things have been happening, so be sure to stay tuned! For those who don't know yet, I also do cakes! So for weddings, birthday and baby shower celebrations....I am doing a handful of cake orders. Take a peek in the Gallery for pictures!
