Celebrate Valentine's Day This Year the SweeTease Way!

Is it just me or is Valentine's Day becoming more and more of a routine every year.  Constantly bombarded with the same Valentine's staples: chocolate, candy, cards, stuffies and, let's not forget the flowers!

Yes! Those are SWEETEASE Mini Cupcake Pops on our Transit Buses Seen Around the City!
Since our cake pops has been getting so much attention lately (being featured at the One-of-a-Kind Show in Vancouver, on our local transit buses and, of course, the Georgia Straight), I figured why not knock off two of these Valentine's staples in one gift.  Sweets + Flowers in one!  Have a look at our Valentine's Day Bouquets!  Flowers look great but they die after a week and then you're left with nothing but wilted petals. Our cake pop bouquets will NEVER wilt first of all, and with a shelf life of up to 2 weeks without refrigeration (up to a month with refrigeration)...it's the gift, you can enjoy for as long as you can resist before they are all eaten.

Prices are as follows:
1/2 dozen floral arrangement start at: $45 (includes vase) + delivery fee
1 dozen floral arrangement start at: $60 (includes vase) + delivery fee

Or if you're just looking for a small sweet treat as a surprise, why not our heart shaped cake pops!

Prices are as follows (does not include floral arrangement):
1/2 dozen: $18/dozen + delivery fee
1 dozen: $36/dozen + delivery fee

**Each of our cake pops are individually wrapped

Cake pop flavours available in:
Chocolate, Vanilla, Pumpkin Spice, Earl Grey, Red Velvet, Almond and Coconut

Added touches:
Character pops $3.25 each
(birds, owls, lions, chicks)

Place your order through: info@sweeteasecupcakes.com OR call me at 604.779.3236 (don't forget to leave a message if we can't get to you!).

Give the gift of CREATIVITY - it always gets you extra points!  :)

Our Cakes Take the Spotlight!

As the wedding season slowly comes to a slow close for the year.  Things have sure been busy and hectic around here!  This summer has been a stream of endless great milestones for so many.  Baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays and, of course, who can forget those extravagant wedding celebrations.  But what has really caught my attention is the increasing demand for my cakes!  From Nike Air Jordan cakes, Transformer cakes to our beloved, Hello Kitty cakes.  My clients have the craziest ideas!!!!  ...and that means, I have to come up with the craziest ways to make it happen!  I can't complain...they are super fun!

Aside from all those great and fun cakes....traditional cakes with a classic spin on them are popular too!  Just have a peek at some wedding cakes and simple sheets cakes.

So, the message that I leave with all of my wonderful clients:  You all keep me on my toes!  I love all the great ideas and challenges...so keep them coming!  Remember weekends tend to fill up quick so be sure to give yourself plenty of time.  Two weeks is probably the minimum to secure your date; however, the earlier the better!  If you don't know if there's enough time...just get in touch and let me know what you're looking for...and I will always try my best to make it happen.  :)

Testing New Ideas...Yes, Again! Mini Wedding Cakes!

As some of you might already know...I am constantly testing new ideas in the kitchen.  This is when the mini wedding cakes idea came to mind.  What exactly are they?  Well...allow me to introduce the soon to be offered little additions to SweeTease.  They are cake pops in the form of two tiered wedding cakes!  Exactly like their sister versions except without the stick and stacked in twos!

Each mini wedding cake is made out of the cake pop mixture (cake and buttercream blended together) and covered with a thin layer of fondant and stacked on top of each other.  So be warned - they are very dense and rich versions of our fluffy cakes.  Don't be mislead, they are still delicious...it just means a few bites will likely give you the kick you need.  Delicately decorated with royal icing for pearled borders, or beautifully wrapped with a handcrafted ribbon and topped with edible fondant flowers and/or hearts...these little cakes are pure indulgence in its most elegant form.

These little delicate take home cakes are perfect as wedding favours and are available in our most popular cupcake flavours, such as coconut, chocolate, red velvet, almond and, of course, your classic vanilla!  They can be individually packaged in either cellophane bags and tied with tailored wedding colours OR in individual windowed bakery boxes.  Each will be $8/each - a price that's nothing compared to the details and impression left on guests faces.

Enjoy!  :)

Recap Bake for the Quake: Over $600 Raised in Just Over 2 Hours!

Featured Cupcakes at the Event
Finally well rested after a full week of prep work and baking for the quake and fulfilling Easter orders for our little chicks...and it sure does feel good!  So sorry to leave the rest of you hanging in suspense of our updates.  I still cannot believe what a great success the Bake for the Quake was last Wednesday.  Over 600 people showed up at the fundraiser, which is amazing!! What's even more amazing is the overwhelming support that there was for SweeTease Cupcakes!  With people waiting nearly an hour to get into the Bake Sale and another 30 minutes just for our booth...I want to give everyone a BIG THANK YOU for all your patience!  I hope that the wait was able to get you some SweeTease goodies to take home with you.
A glimpse of ALL our goodies SweeTease had to offer at the Bake for the Quake Booth.
Crowds hovered around SweeTease! =)
At the end of the event, we SOLD OUT of all our fondant ($5/cupcake) AND gourmet ($4/cupcake) cupcakes and am so proud to announce that because of fans like yourselves, SweeTease was able to fundraise OVER $600, contributing just over 50% of ours sales, to Doctors Without Borders in just over 2 hours!  That averages out to be almost 2 cupcakes were sold every minute that we had at the event!!! Now that is absolutely mind-blowing!!! ....and if you're wondering, yes...100% of the sales from our Japanese inspired items went directly to the cause (hello kitty cupcakes, sushi cakes etc.).
Joy (gourmeted.com) and Mel (gourmetfury.com) did an amazing job with the event and the PR team did a fabulous job getting the word out about such a great event!  Their teams of volunteers and helpers were my saviours at the event, having arrived late for our set-up (since I was just finishing up my sushi cakes and was being held hostage in traffic), their volunteers moved everything in as quickly as they could so that I could have my table filled with treats!  But before I could even have everything set up, the crowds poured in...and the madness began...good madness of course.  The 'ohhhhhs and ahhhhs' and the 'OMG!  Look at those! They are soooo cute!' were heard from all ends....and that reminded me of why I love what I do....and the payoffs of non-stop baking escapades in my little home kitchen!

Hello Kitty Cupcakes!!!  Strawberry cake with Pink Vanilla Buttercream...YUM!

Next project....looking for a good charitable way to give for cancer research (since I had to withdraw from my second year as a Rider for the Ride to Conquer Cancer 2 day cycling ride, because of a contracted wedding that I was booked for) and always trying to find the next best location to showcase more SweeTease goodies to the public!

With that said...if anyone has any good ideas or recommends please let me know!  My next booked venue is going to be at the One-of-a-Kind Show in Vancouver, but I'm eager to see more faces before December!

Here are more pictures of our exclusive cupcakes featured at the event.   For more event pictures - visit the website...www.sweeteasecupcakes.com!  =)

SweeTease Cupcakes is Baking for the Quake...

To prove that collective bake sales aren't dead in today's communities...Joy of Gourmeted (http://gourmeted.com) and Melody of Gourmet Fury (www.gourmetfury.com), two of Vancouver's biggest food bloggers have joined forces with a wonderful idea to help the tsunami and earthquake victims of Japan.  When I heard word of this great event, which is anticipated to feature lots of giveaways, prizes, free refreshments, music and, of course, lots and lots and lots of local yummy baked goodies for sale....I was quick to jump on board!

So glad that SweeTease has taken off the way it has especially over the past several months...this was an opportunity to share my creative treats with the community while contributing to the needs of the those who need it most.  Proceeds of the sales at the two and half hour event will go to Doctors Without Borders in Japan.  Yes, I did say...it's only for two and a half hours...so arrive on time and be sure to swing by the SweeTease booth, as I will be limiting the number of each goods!

There will be my ever popular cupcake pops, gourmet cupcakes, cookies and a handful of creatively Japanese inspired treats, including matcha cupcakes, sushi cakes (yup, I said "sushi cakes") and much much more!  Japan's most beloved little kitten mascot (little Mrs. Hello Kitty) will also be featured on her own pink cupcake - and there will only be 8 for sale....so don't miss out!

This will be one place that you can experience and buy some SweeTease goodies without a minimum purchase order!!!

Swing by and let's prove that there's nothing you can't do with a little creativity and dedication....together we can can help the victims of Japan!  Mark it in your calendars....and I will see you there! =)

A sneak peek of some yummy treats to be offered at the Bake for the Quake Sale!
Match cupcakes and sushi cakes!!!  Who woulda thunk it?!?!?!
